Terms of use

Last updated 17 October 2026. The terms for using this site and walking with us, written to be read.

These terms apply when you use this site or book a walk with Vesel Outdoor. By sending a booking request you agree to them. They are written to be read, so please do.

Using the site

You may browse the site, read the field notes and share links to them. You may not copy the site, its photographs, films or texts for your own use, or try to disrupt it or access parts of it that are not meant to be public.

Booking a walk

A booking request is not yet a booking. A walk is confirmed only when a guide writes back to you with a place to meet and an hour. Until then, the date and line you chose are a request, not a promise.

Groups are small on purpose. The size given for each line is the most we take, and a guide may lower it for the season or the conditions.

Weather, seasons and the closed month

We walk in rain, fog and snow. We do not walk when the guide judges it unsafe: in storms, high wind under the trees, flooding at a crossing or ice we cannot cross. The forest is closed to walkers for one month each year. If we have to cancel a confirmed walk, we offer you another date or a full refund of anything you have paid.

If you need to cancel

Tell us as early as you can by replying to your confirmation. Any payment terms for your walk, including what is refundable, are given in the confirmation and form part of these terms.

On the line

Follow your guide. Their decisions on the route, the pace and the turnaround time are final.

Tell us before the walk about any health condition, injury or fear that could matter in the forest.

Wear the boots and layers your confirmation asks for. Headlamps stay off unless the guide says otherwise.

Leave nothing behind. What comes in goes out.

Walking in a forest carries real risks: uneven ground, roots, cold, water and wildlife. You take part knowing this, and you are responsible for your own fitness to walk.

Our responsibility

We plan every walk with care and our guides know their lines. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law does not allow it to be limited, including for death or injury caused by our negligence. Beyond that, we are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably foresee, or for events outside our control.

Photographs and words

All photographs, films, maps and texts on this site belong to Vesel Outdoor or to the people who made them, and are used with permission.
