Floor and stone

Tomás Ferreira

Tomás grew up two valleys over and has crossed every creek in this forest at every height of water. He carries the stove, the map nobody needs, and most of the stories.

About Tomás
Same circle, same stones. The forest gets used to us, and we owe it that.
Tomás Ferreira, Floor and stone
Tomás Ferreira's emblem, a hand drawn seal for the Understory Loop
Where he came from
Tomás grew up two valleys east and came over the ridge on foot at nineteen, looking for work. He found the stone pocket first and the job second. He has slept in that pocket more nights than anyone alive.
How he guides
He carries the least and notices the most. He hands the shared pack to whoever is nearest, waits without saying so, and looks at the ground under every tent before anyone shoulders a pack in the morning.
A walk with him
Two days, one night, and a camp that leaves no mark. Expect a long quiet hour after dinner, owls from the split oak, and a pocket that looks at six in the morning as if nobody was ever there.

The line, stop by stop.
