Weather and water

Jonas Vik

Jonas came to the forest for the lake and stayed for the weather. He reads tomorrow off the water's surface at dusk, and he is the one who decides whether a line goes out at all.

About Jonas
The lake is not still. It is waiting, and there is a difference you can see.
Jonas Vik, Weather and water
Jonas Vik's emblem, a hand drawn seal for the Lake Line
Where he came from
Jonas came from boats. He read weather off water for a living before he read it off the lake, and he still checks the far shore the way a sailor checks the horizon: first thing, and again before he trusts it.
How he guides
He stops the group at the bench past the boathouse for the second lacing, every walk, and he will tape a heel at the first sign of heat. On the flat rock he says nothing at all and lets the lake do the asking.
A walk with him
The gentlest line and the one with the strictest rule about boots. Six kilometres of shore, a rock where the water goes quiet for ten minutes, and a lunch you could carry a child to.

The line, stop by stop.
