Winter guide

Arvid Lund

Arvid only walks in winter. When the snow comes down he opens the Snow Line, a short loop through the pines where every animal that passed in the night has left its name, and he reads them out to you like a guest book.

About Arvid
Snow is the only page the forest writes on. Arvid just reads it out loud.

Where he came from
Arvid trained as a tracker in the north and came south for the beech woods. He lasted one summer before he admitted he only really liked this place under snow.
How he guides
He walks ahead, stops at every track and lets the group catch up before he says anything. Most people guess wrong the first three times and right for the rest of the walk.
A walk with him
Four hours, gentle, cold at the edges. Snowshoes are at the gate. Bring gloves you can take off quickly; the tracks are worth touching.

The line, stop by stop.
